candylandI debated for a brief time (i.e. about two seconds) over whether to use my Year of the Ox icon or my Scorpio icon, but then I remembered that 2009 actually is the Year of the Ox, so Furuba it is! Every twelve years. Next time around will be my thirty-sixth birthday, which is a sort of horrifying thought.
Today I am twenty-four. I have officially reached my mid-twenties...which is really a sort of lame distinction for a birthday, but hey, it's better than twenty-three! Next year I can celebrate the quarter-century mark, huh? Incidentally, this is also the first day I have taken off work, by request, since I started back in the pharmacy back in April \o/
My plans for this illustrious day are simple, and can be summed up thusly:
After I finish this entry, I'm going to go work out for an hour. Then I am going to take an unnecessarily long shower, and make myself look pretty. At eleven-thirty, picking up Kat and Rach and the Jackster, and we're going out to lunch. Making a couple of stops (pick up a Halloween bucket for Jack, go get my cake), then come home and study like a madwoman...and maybe play a bit more Kingdom Hearts. Tonight, grocery shopping with the parents.
Fear me.
...ya know, I have not actually paid for a birthday cake in years? The pharmacy I work at is in a grocery store, and they send their employees a coupon for a free cake from the store every year--and our bakery actually makes really good cake. So I toddle in and pick mine up and that's what we have. So yes, going to pick that up and take it home and there shall be tasty chocolate cake that is not a lie, yay!
