I have slept a TON this weekend. Seriously. Crashed at maybe eleven on Friday night, woke up at nine AM on Saturday. Took a two-hour nap on Saturday. Out at about midnight on Saturday night, woke up at nine AM on Sunday. Only got about six and a half hours of sleep Sunday night into Monday morning...but then I scored an hour and a half long nap today.
That's a solid...what, twenty-eight hours of sleep in three days? THIS MUST HAPPEN MORE OFTEN.
Newest YouTube discovery: Legend of Zelda Abridged. I'm watching it slowly. Ya know, between naps. Best line so far: "They have magic doors! Just like in the supermarket!"
Classes start tomorrow. Biology and Intermediate Algebra. Wish me luck!
I also have to work tomorrow. The day after a three-day weekend. Oh god this is going to HURT. Come home, have a couple of shots, and start studying. I work tomorrow, then I'm off for two days, then word Friday, off Saturday, work Sunday, and then WEEK OF VACATION GET!
ehrenyu, we need to touch base about next week :D SO EXCITED DESU!
Lastly, serious business time.
My area has been hit by record-breaking rainfall this past month. I'd go so far as to say it's rained more days than it's been dry, and the rainy days have hit us with inches upon inches of water. I live in Northwestern Iowa, right on the river. Well, the river's been getting awfully high as a result of this rain.
Now, it's not my side of the river that's looking to be the problem. It's the other side. The soccer fields and campgrounds over there have already flooded. And then in the next few days, they're going to be releasing water from the dam. Which means that the flooding is going to get worse. One of the affluent neighborhoods in the area is probably going to go partially underwater. Three of my coworkers live there. The silver lining is that they have warning and have time to pack up and move things out.
As I said, chances are slim that anything will happen in my area of town. If it does come up over the banks on this side, it won't get too far. Certainly not to my neighborhood. But...it's going to be a mess in a lot of ways.
We usually get pretty lucky with things missing us. At least this isn't as bad as it could have been.
