So apparently the "lack of a rod" has spoiled my rotten ass.

Along with the asses of my collective generation.

Also, I have no manners.

Or common sense.

A complete stranger said this to me.

Because asking someone to explain and justify their own statements obviously makes you a hooligan.

Who knew?

Feel free to laugh, comment, rant, etc. as you please. Anonymous comments are screened. If they're funny enough, they'll be unscreened for mocking purposes. God, I love being a bitch sometimes. I obviously wasn't spanked enough as a child, y/y?

I consider myself to be tolerant. I have many friends who are extremely religious. But when I'm trying to have a reasonable debate with someone regarding the way they publicly ridicule their daughter, and they respond first by throwing (contradictory) Bible verses around and then calling me names? I get a little annoyed. Especially when I have specifically asked them not to preach at me or tell me that my talents are "God's gift," because I do not hold with such beliefs. And they do it anyway, saying I should be thankful for the blessings God has given me. That speaks of great disrespect for MY beliefs.

I do consider myself agnostic, yes. I believe in a higher power, but I do not follow organized Christianity. Organized religion as a whole is something that has been soured for me. I do not like being told what to think or who I should associate with based on someone's interpretation of a book that is hundreds and hundreds of years old. While many of the lessons I see in the Bible are quite good, I do not see those lessons being followed. Particularly "Love thy brother."

... [/rant] Sorry. Got a little carried away.

Naw. It's nice to feel less alone, seeing that my family is, on the most part, good Catholics. I've been open to skepticism lately. X___X Add to the fact that the Philippines is a dominantly Catholic country, and it becomes harder to voice my opinions....

I'm just scared. Of the future. Maybe of the truth. (I don't want to go to hell....)

I was raised Catholic--baptized and confirmed in the faith. But I just decided that it wasn't what I believed. I bear no ill-will to anyone who holds with those beliefs. I rather enjoy discussing and debating theology.

*hugs* No one knows. As my father says, we'll all know for sure only at the moment when we take that last breath. I'd like to believe that there is a heaven, and that good people will get to go there. Because all we can really do is try to live our lives as best we can and be the best people we can be ^_^

Uh-huh *nods* ^^ Do you believe in Evolution? (If you don't mind me asking.)

I like discussing these kinds of things, too. If only I don't repel people. XP

I do hold with evolution. There's a great deal of evidence to support it.
