I don't have the links on me at the moment--I'll add them when I get home. But I have a question. This is more directed towards all the wonderful men on my f-list, mostly because I'm trying to get a grasp on this mindset. All the lovely ladies who I am blessed to poke via comments, I welcome all thoughts on this. Because it's sort of a "WTF?" thing, to my mind. So the question is...
Have you ever entertained the notion that it is somehow your right to go up to a random woman--a stranger--and ask if you can fondle/grope her breasts?
If yes, please advise D: Because I don't like it. And I don't get it.
*hops off soapbox*
ETA: The Post that started it all, and the one I was initially linked to.
I'm making it my mission to try and finish some of the "Now playing" games on my Backloggery. I finished one last night, The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. I dunno. Maybe I wasn't in the right mood or something, but I was rather underwhelmed. And the very final battle?
kaitodoushi asked if I thought it was fun. I replied something to the effect of "I was thinking of a one-syllable word that started with the letters F and U. But it wasn't 'fun.'"
So now I'm working my way through Cooking Mama in an attempt to make sure I have all the recipes unlocked and that I've done them all at gold level, i.e. perfectly. I figure that qualifies as beating the game. And I also picked up my new Pokemon game (Explorers of Time)...and Cooking Mama 2. I will not start either of them until after I finish up Cooking Mama AND Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. Which I have one case left to play on. And then I have the other three games in the series. Must play more GHEY LAWYERS.
It's raining. A lot.
Middle school choir concert tonight. Will have more about it later. But I gotta run--time for class!

...uh, no.
That's not even one of my secret phantasies, and god know how naughty my mind could be.^^;
To Dag: Well, I'm not allowed to touch your boobs and I don't plan to ask your permission for it...but I'm still allowed to glomp you in real life, ne?
And you know that resistance is futile in front of Mia's boobs of doom. ^___^
And for Phoenix Wright...
...I'm currently addicted, and in the beginning of the third game.
(Damn, I want more action between Miles and the dope)X

You're farther along than I am. I'm just about done with the first game...but I got a bit distracted by
shiny thingsother games. They're surprisingly addictive! And yes, ph34r Mia's b00bs XDD(no subject)
Date: 2008-04-24 03:55 pm (UTC)Ok, I see where the guys were coming, and I don't think the basic idea is bad per se(I'm not talking about their... project, but the idea behind it. Sexuality mixed with innocence and respect, and free from guilt and suspicious feelings), but I don't think that this little utopia could work outside of very restrained groups with people knowing and trusting each other.
And, even if I'm all for talking about kinks and exploring sexuality, I prefer that we keep a bit of privacy around those matters. So yeah, their project... I'm not against it, but I don't condone it either, and I understood where their opponents are coming. ^^;
That beeing said, if I've not missed something, their stuff is based upon consent and freedom, so as long you're not wearing their badge, no one would bother you.
(Now, if everyone were responsible and honest, that would be enough but I don't think that this idea would remain in the boundaries proposed by the creators...and I could see creepy stalker harassing girls without their badge. ^^;)
"I support glomping! \o/"
I would fight for my right to glomp Dag. ^___^
"You're farther along than I am. I'm just about done with the first game..."
I'm not playing to the games per se, I'm watching the case on youtube. Even if the investigation part could be a bit boring, sometimes, the trials are always awesome. ^__^
And I adore the characters.

Completely oblivious to the fact that there are a lot of girls who suffered a great deal through high school because of boys who didn't understand or respect personal boundaries.
The idea itself isn't necessarily a bad one, but it should have stayed where it started--as something being done with a group of close-knit friends. It should not be expanded to complete strangers.
And that doesn't even begin to touch on the potential legal ramifications--it just takes one person who is offended at being asked to cry sexual harassment--and being asked that question does constitute harassment under US law--and that could get a LOT of people in trouble. Including the con.
I fight for my right to glomp my friends as well! Glomps for everyone! :D
...it's a lot more fun if you actually play it *laugh* Oh, and if you have some free time, Videogame Recaps has done the first two cases from the first game. They are HILARIOUS.

Date: 2008-04-24 04:12 pm (UTC)The basic idea seemed more genuine that anything else for me but I couldn't see it working on a large scale.
In fact...
"The idea itself isn't necessarily a bad one, but it should have stayed where it started--as something being done with a group of close-knit friends. It should not be expanded to complete strangers."
It's exactly my thoughts.
"...it's a lot more fun if you actually play it "
I dunno, for me, it's like watching a courtroom drama anime, with twist, prosecutors putting proof outside their leeves, surprise witness, shameless melodramatic stuff(ok, and Mia's boobs, did I mention Mia's boobs?)...
Once the setting is done, the mystery and the trial around him are pretty entertaining by themselves.
Without playing, I've still lots of fun, and at least, I didn't need to waste time and to play the same case again and again, until I found the right evidence to use. XD

Date: 2008-04-24 05:05 pm (UTC)Yeah, am with you lot on the "should be a small group thing only". I think it's been done before too, in various forms, with various success.
And usually drugs involved. *shot*Just. As a con movement? That's free hugs pervertified. D:
Also, being allowed to touch something isn't going to stop people from being able to get obsessed by it, just saying.
