All right, confession time: I haven't been talking about weight numbers as much this week because the scale really hasn't been moving. At first I thought that skipping exercise on Saturday (when I went out with Kat and Rach) plus slipping a bit on my diet was the cause, so I worked a bit harder on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

Well, it's now Thursday. I weigh in tomorrow. I hauled ass yesterday, and more or less no change. Even though I know plateaus are a normal part of the process, it's a bit sad-making, since I feel like I've been trying really hard. I mentioned it at dinner tonight, and my parents gave me the "this is normal" talk. Then Mom made a comment which almost made me slap myself in the forehead in a Homer Simpson-esque fashion and go "D'OH!"

She said, "By the way, you're breaking out a bit. You know weight can fluctuate on your period, right?"

(My skin has cleared up a LOT since I started this whole process. But I always break out at That Time of the Month. It's pretty much my body's hormonal way of sticking a giant flashing neon sign to my face that says "I AM BLEEDING. APPROACH WITH CAUTION.")

So with that in mind, I hit the internets to do a bit of research--I've been doing a lot of research lately XD And I got happy confirmation. It's apparently very normal for women to put on anywhere from 1-8 pounds of pure water-weight around and during That Time. A lot of women (I'm reading about it on a Q&A forum-type site) are also saying that the extra water-weight goes away on its own after a few days.

I think I'm still within a pound or so of where I was last week, so I'm actually doing quite well. So after I finish this, I'm going to go exercise so that ideally, by this time next week, there'll be a LOT of difference :D

I'm current stuck on the song Koe, the closing theme from the third Fatal Frame game. I stumbled across the title somewhere, and since I love music, I thought I'd look it up and give it a listen. It's a really awesome song! *makes note to look up lyrics*

Oh, and I wrote last night! Just a little--like, maybe three hundred words. A couple of paragraphs. But that's more than I've done in the last couple of weeks, so yay! At this rate, I'll have all my WIPs finished by Christmas!

Three weeks until the Illinois trip!

Totally normal *cuddles muchly* very very normal that your plateauing like that XD Having lost so much I was definitley in awe of your made work outskillz (i fail on all accounts XD I've walked some and managed to make my feet raw but that's it *snorts*) but usually theres a point where it just stops for a bit... so don't kill your self trying to make it stop XPXP

And the whole waterweight thing too *snorts* I hate being on/near cuz I'm like GAHHH but its always fun the week after cuz suddeny it looks like I've fasted outta nowhere XD

*cuddles*

The "dropping it all out of nowhere" part is what I'm looking forward to, and why I'm making myself keep working out and stuff :D

And I know it's normal to plateau during the process. But it's really nice to have an actual physical explanation for it that says, "This is why, and next week it's all going to melt off" :D

*snuggles back* Weight lifting is your friend. Takes twenty minutes, can do it anywhere, hand-weights aren't terribly expensive, and it burns a crap-ton of calories ^__^

Oh I love weighttraining... and I loved working out too-- but when you leave at like eight in the morning for school and get home at 2:30 in the morning from school its hard to actually do it XD may be able to do it anywhere but ya can't read for a class or do draping homework while lifting weights XDXD I wanted to work out in mornings but thus far I've been getting up at six just to make sure I have everything done for the day *shakes head* and I've been so busy I haven't really been watching food intake/what I'm eating... its one of those "grab what you can" aka if the only meal you get has to be the hamburger that you grabbed and ate walking to class so be it (and I do mean walking XD Fastfood as it was meant to be)

But yeah it happens some XD dunno how much it makes weight fluxuate but I always notice my face looks somewhat thinner and things fit a bit better the week after mine ^^;;

I break out, too, when I'm 'blessed' with the monthly bleeding. *sigh* I remember hoping I would stop getting pimples when I got past the teen years but that remains to be seen. And, yes, I retain water, too. The upside of my daily walks is that my cramps haven't been as bad... mostly. There are still times when I want to rip my uterus out.

My face has cleared up a lot since I started working out and changing my diet. But when that times rolls around, so does the acne ~_~ And I feel overall great, despite Certain Things, but I'm finding that certain exercises knock me flat now that usually don't.
