Lunchtime!

Well, I'm halfway through my first day o' classes back at good ol' BVU. Thoughts so far on things:

Prehistoric to Medieval Art: Should be relatively easy, not a huge workload. One big paper--I'm thinking about doing mine over the Sphinx or something Greek ♥ *is a history buff*

Religions of Asia: A decent amount of work, but should be really interesting (and we'll be talking about Japan!)

Lunch: Tasty, might have to get seconds.

Next Nights plunnie: Being a prat, needs to stop whining so I can finish it.

Secondary Methods: Haven't actually had it yet, but don't wanna go ~.~;;

More to come later after I have the rest of my classes today, and probably something tomorrow about Visual Basic, which is my last science class *hisses* Curses on you, Gen Eds! CURSE J00!! *shakes fist at sky*

And tonight is Johnny Holmes night *cringes and hides in corner* Traditionally, this is a bad party night. But cheers to know that I'm not on duty! I just have to be in the building all night! Hmmm...I think I'll be motivated and try to get my Religions homework done early...or stare at my computer screen and plunnie all night. Either works *innocent face*

Sorry to the people I left hanging on chat last night. I think I blinked...and it turned into a very long blink and I didn't open my eyes again until this morning. I rolled over and looked at my laptop clock and saw that it was 7:33 AM...and the first panicked thought that dashed through my head was "OHMIGOD I'M LATE FOR TRAFFIC DUTY!!" Then I realized that it was Monday, check-ins were over, and I had class at nine. So my third thought was really "Go back to sleep for another forty-five minutes."

I pose this philosophical question to my fellow Conan fans, and I'm looking forward to the responses. So here is my thought: Conan is seven years old in body, but seventeen years old in mind, right?

...so how do age of consent laws apply in this situation?

Because my understanding of such laws (and I could be wrong) is that they are to protect those who are not emotionally ready to have sex. But if he's mentally and emotionally seventeen, then by law he's technically old enough. As I asked [livejournal.com profile] jeva_chan, wouldn't you just love to be the judge in that particular trial? "It's not child molestation, your honor! He's of age!" *headdesks*

I asked two people this question on AIM. The responses were delightful!

From Jeva... )

For the record, Jeva, your response cracked me up =D And then I decided to ask the exact same thing again...

From Amm... )

Note the stealthy way in which she changed the topic ;D And as I said--yes, I've been wondering about this for quite some time. These are the thoughts that occupy me when I can't sleep at night =D Ready, set, go!

For my Religions of Asia class, I have to interview someone with two questions, and then analyze their answers. So I asked two people: [livejournal.com profile] jewelsybear1017, and Little Sister, since we're all hanging out tonight. Now, Jewels' responses were relatively straightforward. But when I got to my sister...

Me: What's the first thing that comes to your mind when I say 'religion'?
Sis: ...penguins!

And she said it so proudly, too...

EDIT: She added that she's sure penguins have a religion, too. She says it's called penguinology.
